  • Monday - Friday during the school year 
  • Open before, after school, & during lunch times​
  • Closed on weekends, holidays & summer break
  • Ask for a Library Pass for morning and lunch times

The Librarian-Media Specialist

Mr. Brito is the librarian at CMS. He sponsors the Book Club & co-sponsors the WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) club. He also hosts the Scholastic Book Fair every year.  Mr. Brito enjoys reading, watching movies, and playing video games.  He is passionate about reading and the positive impact it has on a student, after all, reading is the foundation of all learning.  Mr. Brito may be reached at (915) 877-7915 or via email at [email protected].   ​

Mrs. Nichole Lara is the library assistant at CMS.  Nichole is delighted to help students and teachers find the reading resources they need. Library Services & Resources

Students use their school-issued IDs to check out library items.  They may check out three library items (books, magazines and audio books).  All library items are tracked through the library for each student via the Library Management System. ​

​Library Items students check out:
  • Books (print and e-books) *(Printed Reference Books May Not Be Checked Out)
  • Play-aways (Portable Audio Book Devices)
  • Online Digital Audiobooks
  • Magazines​ (Periodicals)
  • Chromebooks (Assigned to students upon availability)
  • Books, magazines and play-aways (15 days & can renew 2x)
  • A $.05 cent late fee is charged per day for each item that is turned in late. 

Returning CMS Library Items

ALL LIBRARY ITEMS MUST BE RETURNED IF YOU ARE WITHDRAWING FROM CANUTILLO ISD, GOING TO NORTHWEST EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL OR CANUTILLO HIGH SCHOOL.
